Norm Thompson
Project:
Silver Ridge acted as a full-service solution provider on Norm Thompson's Enterprise Marketing Data Analysis System.
Process:
Silver Ridge began by interviewing the users to discover the business problem, worked with the project stakeholders to develop a requirements document, designed a system, won approval from the executive team, implemented a solution, performed quality assurance testing along with their staff, and transitioned the maintenance of the data mart to the Oracle staff in their IT department.
Today:
Norm Thompson did not have anyone to whom we could transition the front-end application maintenance, so we still do it today. This application has been in production for over 3 years.
Our contribution:
- Developed custom Enterprise Marketing Data Analysis System, using Oracle and Visual Basic 6.0.
- Provided additional staff both for support of this system and for development of E-commerce system interfaces.
- Providing ongoing maintenance and support.

Client:
Kipe & Associates / Multnomah County
Project:
This was a yearlong project to build a criminal justice data warehouse and a Web-based decision support application financed by a 1.25M bond. The team was coordinated by the Public Safety Coordinating Council, and was composed of half consultants and half county government IT staff.
Process:
This project required skills in Internet security, web applications, and data warehousing. Silver Ridge performed software selection, recommended hardware, defined requirements, designed a solution, implemented the system and provided training.
We then built a complex Web application that integrated third party data analysis tools and a sophisticated user access control model because some of the agencies that contributed data to the system did not want other agencies with access to the system to see their agency-specific information.
Today:
Multnomah County did have staff members who could support the application long-term. Today, the system is supported entirely by Multnomah County staff and has been in production for over 2 years.
Our contribution:
- Designed and developed web-based decision support system for use by government decision makers, using Servlets, IIS, ASP, PL/SQL and Oracle 8i.
- Transitioned system knowledge to government IT staff.
